Made of clear plastic, this two-holed button is sewn on the inside of the garment at the same time as the outside button to create a greater surface area at the attachment point.  This helps prevent the thread and knot from pulling through the fabric. Useful when the fabric is delicate, or the outside buttons receive a lot of wear and tear.
