A note on cloak length:  
We list the length of the cloak, and then the suggested height that the cloak would be best suited for.  
For example: 58" - 6'.  This means that the cloak itself is 58 inches long from clasp to hem and would best be suited for someone approximately 6 feet tall - it will be approximately ankle length.

These unlined medium weight 100% cotton twill cloaks have a dark metal clasp and all seams are professionally finished.  These handcrafted standard style cloaks have a hem circumference of approximately 184".   These comfortable, dramatic, and easy care cloaks are machine washable and dryable!

These black cloaks were photographed at sunset - the lighting or different monitor settings may cause them to appear brownish in color.

These versatile black full circle cloaks are made from 100%  cotton twill that can be surface treated for water resistance by the customer after purchase with something like Scotchguard.  Available in either organic or traditional cotton twill, these full-circle cloaks feature an oversized hood and measure 58" clasp to hem.   These may be shortened after purchase - contact us via email for details!

The same style as our black full circle cloaks, except in hunter green 100% cotton twill, this relatively light-weight dramatic cloak would be great for camping at Faire or Festival.  These full-circle cloaks feature an oversized hood, brass colored romance style clasp, and measure about 53" clasp to hem.

Distressed Hunter Green Cotton Twill Ranger Style Cloak
This true half circle cloak created from pre-distressed hunter green 100% cotton twill was inspired by Faramir's Ranger cloak.  It features a pointed hood and a hemline measuring approximately 166".  The cloak is approximately 52" long and closes with two ties secured by faux suede appliques.  All seams are professionally finished either during the weaving of the fabric or during our construction, with the exception of the hemline which has been partially distressed to give it a clean but worn look.  Contact us for a custom order if you would prefer a different color, fabric, or size!

Drover Style Distressed Grey Cotton Cloak
Based on a historic garment from the late 1700's, this unlined cloak has lines reminiscent of a Drover coat and fastens via 3 closures at the front.  The weathered and distressed black 100% cotton twill fabric is not historically accurate to the 1700's time period, but the variegated gray color gives the impression of long use and exposure to sunlight in a brand new garment.  This will add a touch of 'realism' to your character. Add "mud" or shred the hemline (or both) for an even more lived in look.  This weathered cloak measures 51" from center front base of neck to hemline.  This cloak does NOT have sleeves.

The Mourning Cloak(tm)
Inspired by the gold tipped black wings of an exotic butterfly, this handcrafted black full circle 100% wool flannel cloak is embellished with over 15 yards of black and gold trim along all of its edges. It features an oversized hood that drapes well around the face when up, and gracefully over and around the shoulders when down. It attaches at the neck with a gold colored Art Nouveau style metal clasp. This black wool cloak is unlined, and all seams are professionally finished. This black wool full circle cloak's length is measured in inches from center front of neck at the clasp to hem and the bottom edge circumference is approximately 396 inches.

The Scriptorium Cloak (tm)

Inspired by various medieval manuscript illustrations, this full circle black 100% wool flannel cloak is fully edged with over 15 yards of ornate metallic gold, red, green and black trim.  It features a full hood with enormous pointed tail that can be worn down the back, or wrapped around the shoulders and neck like a scarf.  This full circle wool cloak clasps at the neck with a gold colored Art Nouveau style metal clasp.  The cloak is unlined, and all seams are professionally finished.  It measures approximately 53" clasp to hem (floor length on someone 5'6" or mid calf length for someone 6 feet tall), bottom edge circumference is approximately 396 inches.  The trim is also available for separate purchase on our Trims Page.

A cloak for Rangers - perfect for hiding in the woods and tracking down orcs!  This unlined heathered olive 100% wool flannel cloak is created in our standard style that drapes closed in the front - unless you choose to throw it back over your shoulders.  Featuring a rounded full self-lined hood, the cloak clasps at the neckline with a brass toned Istanbul style metal clasp.  This cloak measures 55 inches from clasp to finished hem.

Rev War Style Red Wool Cloak

Based on records of an extant garment from the Revolutionary War era, this historically accurate cloak is created from soft red wool broadcloth similar to the original.  The cloak is machine stitched and the hood hand stitched to gather the back.  This cloak ties at the neck with a matching red velvet ribbon and features arm slits similar to the original, but we have stitched over the edges of the arm slits to prevent any possible fraying (this was not done in the original).  Measures 40" from ribbon tie to hemline.  Fiber content 70% wool, 20% nylon, 10% cashmere.

1950's Style Black Wool Melton Cape with Eggplant Satin Lining and Velvet Collar

 Made from coat weight black wool melton and lined with egglant colored satin, this warm and versatile cape coat features a black crush and spot resistant velvet collar that turns into 'pockets' at the hemline - perfect for keeping your hands warm while looking elegant!  This wrap was created using a vintage 1950's pattern.   This wrap is perfect for going out on the town or for day-to-day wear.  Measuring approximately 23" nape of neck to hem, the cape is originally intended for someone with the measurements 36 bust, 31 Waist, and 39 Hips, though of course it will fit a range of sizes around these measurements.

This unique piece is based on a blend of 1950's and medieval designs yielding a hooded wrap/scarf.  Made from unlined crushed hunter green velvet, this versatile wrap has a hidden hook and eye closure at the neckline.  The front is 44" long, and the back is 15.5" in length.

Victorian Style Wool Caroling Cape in Burgundy and Green

Victorian Style Wool Melton Caroling Cape
This caroling cape was based on a ‘stylish cape’ design from an original McCall’s Magazine dated December 1904.  We melded ideas from several different views in the historic reference to come up with the cape you see here.

This Victorian caroling cape is made from unlined hunter green coat weight 100% wool melton for the main body and shorter shoulder cape, each trimmed with burgundy colored velvet ribbon.  Over these is a burgundy velvet stole with lappets trimmed with gold passementerie, and lined with matching burgundy satin.  Around the neck area is a gold 100% silk dupioni decorative collar.  This ornate cape has four hand cast brass thistle lacers at the center front as closure.  The main cape body measures 25” at center front base of neck to hemline.  Neck opening is 19” in circumference laced completely closed.  One size fits all as this is a full circle style.

This Victorian style cape was based on a ‘stylish cape’ design from an original McCall’s Magazine dated December 1904.  We melded ideas from several different views in the historic reference to come up with the cape you see here.

This second prototype Victorian style cape is made from wool melton in a classic interwoven black, gray and ivory for the main body and shorter shoulder cape, each trimmed with black velvet ribbon.  Over these is an unlined charcoal wool boucle stole with lappets trimmed with black braid.  		 Venice Lace Detail

Around the neck area is a black cotton velvet band with black lace accents and two decorative silver and black velvet buttons. This cape has two fabric covered black coat hook and eye closures at the center front on the inside.  Main cape body measures 25” at center front base of neck to hemline.  Neck opening is 22” in circumference.  One size fits all as this is a full circle style.

Velvet Cloaks

Midnight Eve Silk Velvet Cloak

Inspired by evening cloaks from the 1950's, this black satin lined cloak is made from black flat pile silk velvet.  This type of silk velvet won't crush in strategic high-use areas over time - the nap is already flat over the entire surface, creating a look like an unusual pelt.  This evening cloak is decorated with sequins, rhinestones, shiny black beads and two rhinestone clasps at the center front opening.  Shown here with a blue silk/linen slip dress (not included) for contrasting color purposes, this cloak has side front slits from hemline to elbow level as shown on the right hand side above.  We have intentionally adjusted the cloak on the mannequin so that you can see this detail - normally when not in use or in motion the cloak drapes so that these slits are hidden within the natural folds of the cloak.  This cloak measures 57.5" from center front base of the mannequin neck to hemline.  This would be just above the floor length for someone approximately 5' 10" wearing shoes.  If you need this cloak shortened to better fit your specific measurement requirements, please see our cloaks measurement chart on our Custom Orders page and contact us for details.

This Hunter green velvet cloak is made from a soft and thick crush resistant synthetic velvet and features a rounded full hood.  This budget conscious cloak is unlined, and measures 53" from the Brass Romance clasp to hem.  This cloak has no arm slits; arm slits are available on custom ordered cloaks for an additional $35.  Since this cloak is unlined, it is machine washable on cold, and tumble dry on low, or it may be dry-cleaned.

This unique silk velvet cloak has been hand ombre dyed to range from shades of rose pink to ruby red.  It features a curved full hood and is fully lined in red satin acetate.  The clasp is a gold rhinestone Hearts and Bar style.  This silk velvet cloak measures 48" at center front curving to 52" nape of neck to hemline.  This is a prototype for a series of ombre dyed garments and does have a few minor dye irregularities on the front, hence the extreme sale price.

Over seventy-five embroidered silver snowflakes in different shapes and sizes appear to swirl around the front opening, rounded full hood and hemline of this cardinal red 100% wool flannel cloak. This embroidered cloak is fully lined with heavy white satin throughout the cloak body and with white velboa short pile faux fur (or like a very long pile velvet) in the hood.  The velboa folds to the outside edge of the hood as a border.  This cloak has arm slits in the side seams.  Closure is a hidden coat weight hook and eye at the neckline. This cloak measures 53" from clasp to hem. 

Due to the embroidery at the hemline, this cloak can not be hemmed after purchase. The snowflakes were researched and digitized from actual ice crystal photo records, then painstakingly machine embroidered over the course of several hours. Just as each snowflake is unique, this cloak is a one-of-a-kind and will never be exactly repeated!

Our unlined black 100% wool flannel cloak tunic is made from medium weight wool (not coat weight) and would be great to layer for three season wear.  This cloak tunic measures approximately 35" in length at the center front, features a lace-up neckline and a pointed hood.
