Legend Shirts(tm) and Renaissance Shirts

Inspired by men's shirts from the Renaissance through to the early 20th century, this versatile men's shirt will be an excellent choice to begin building your SCA, LARP, Halloween or Ren Faire wardrobe or to complement your existing garments.  This comfortable, loose fitting shirt has a short standing collar and a yoke at the shoulders into which the shirt body and sleeves are gathered.  The Renaissance style has pleated detailing at collar and cuffs.

Charcoal and brown wool viking style tunic detail
Based on extant bog tunics from the Viking days, this charcoal gray and golden brown twill woven 100% wool tunic has been softened through machine washing.  This comfortable and warm overtunic has a coordinating golden brown neck facing, and the sleeve ends are the woven selvedge of the fabric which is the same brown color.  Seams are machine stitched and raw interior edges serged.  Actual garment measures 41" long neck to hem, 50" chest, 30" sleeve AND shoulder.

This LOTR inspired rich burgundy red 100% silk satin tunic has silver trim and beading on the standing collar.  This more form fitting tunic tapers at the sleeve and the waist for a more tailored look, and buttons at the front with seven silver buttons.  The tunic measures 19" neck, 7" one shoulder, 23.5" sleeve, 38.5" length down center front, 48" chest tapering to 42" waist, bicep 18".

Hunter Green Faux Suede Etched Blade Jerkin




Black and Silver Etched Blade Jerkin

 Designs etched into 3rd century Irish scabbards have here been transformed into almost 15,500 metallic gold colored stitches adorning the front and epaulettes of this Renaissance inspired men's jerkin. Whether worn by rangers or noble kings, this piece will be sure to turn heads!

This embroidered hunter green faux suede jerkin is unlined and laces at the sides and center front for greater range of fit.  It features a riding slit at the back.  Actual garment measurements while fully laced closed are as follows (remember there is some leeway in these measurements due to the lacing): 23" shoulder to shoulder in back, 50" chest circumference, 48" waist, 36" nape to hem.

This black 100% wool flannel version of our Etched Blade jerkin features silver threads for an eye-catching contrast.  This jerkin laces at the sides and center front.  Unlike the Hunter vesion above, there is no riding slit at the back.  This embroidered jerkin is not lined but all seams are professionally finished.  Actual garment measurements while fully laced closed are as follows (remember there is some leeway in these measurements due to the lacing): 25" shoulder to shoulder in back, 52" chest circumference, 50" waist, 36" nape to hem.

Made from black brocade lined with matte black satin, this handsome renaissance style men's doublet buttons up the front with eighteen 3/8" multi-faceted glasslike black plastic buttons that will never chip or shatter.   The sleeves are attached by three grommets and ties per side, so you can wear the doublet with or without the sleeves, as you wish.

Weathered Burgundy Linen Waistcoat

This vest or waistcoat is made from hand-dyed burgundy linen that has variations in it for a weathered look, with a lighter burgundy fabric on the back of the waistcoat.  This vest is fully lined with tan 100% linen.   It buttons up the front with eight 'catseye' brass buttons.  There are two functional pockets with decorative buttons on the pocket flaps and a back waist tie for adjustability.  The garment itself measures: 23" neck, 54" chest, 43" natural waist (around the belly button at the fullest point), 33" nape to hem.

This vest or waistcoat is made from 100% linen - royal blue front, back and lining interwoven blue and white. Button front with ten silver trefoil buttons and back waist tie for adjustability.  There are two functional pockets with decorative pocket flap buttons.  The garment itself measures: 24.5" neck, 56" chest, 56" natural waist (around the belly button at the fullest point), 32" nape to hem.

These full fall front knee breeches are made from pre-shrunk weathered gray linen with hints of aged purple, as if the fabric had been purple long ago.  There are two button flap pockets and the back of the waistband has an adjustable gusset, with a tie going through sewn buttonholes.  These full fall/drop front linen knee breeches are unlined with all seams professionally finished and measure 42" at the waist, 34" outseam and 21" inseam.  The gusset gives up to 3.5" more room at the waist.

These Jedi style cotton tunics, obis and tabards are super easy to care for!  Just toss in the wash on cold with like colors and tumble dry low for best results.  If you would like something a bit dressier, we also have tunic sets available in 100% silk noil below.  Wear one tunic alone or layer it with matching or contrasting colors for different characters and effects.

The tunics are designed to overlap in the front, and have no closures.  The tunics will fit up to a 60 inch chest, each shoulder is about 8 inches wide, and the sleeves are 23 inches long. They can be cinched closed with your belt or we can custom make an obi from matching or contrasting material, with a velcro closure to fit your waist.  Tabards can also be made for you out of a matching or contrasting material - see below to purchase the custom obi and/or custom tabard set.

Custom Cotton Obi - This is a fabric sash belt between 5 and 6 inches wide, with velcro closure, made out of  one of the above tunic materials.
